Submission Guidelines

- For the 2025-2026 school year, we will be accepting submissions from September 1st to January 8th for Issue 5 and January 21st to May 15th for Issue 6.
- Work from current or former NDP students will not be considered.
- Work submitted must be original and previously unpublished (this includes blogs, social media, school literary magazines, etc.)
- Prose submissions must be under 5,000 words and double-spaced. Poetry submissions should be under 4 pages; poems exceeding that limit due to formatting will be considered.
- All manuscripts must be written in English.
- All manuscripts must include your name and email address at the top of the first page. Please number throughout.
- Multiple submissions (3 per genre) are permitted until further notice.
- Submissions must be emailed to hamptonreviewsubmissions@notredameprep.com
- Each submission must be saved separately as a .doc or .docx file type and save the file as Last name-title. For example, a story by Sarah Murphy entitled “The Ladybug” would be save as “Murphy-The Ladybug.”
- In the body of your email, please include the following: Your name, submission title(s), your current school and grade. If you are homeschooled, you should note that here.
- Simultaneous submissions are considered, but please email if your work has been accepted by another publication.

The Hampton Review does not publish works containing graphic depictions or descriptions of a sexual nature, violence, or drug/alcohol use. The content of the submitted works must be appropriate for publication by a Catholic high school, thus content must be approved before accepted for publication. Any content not in compliance with the Notre Dame Preparatory School Handbook or is contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church will not be considered. The Hampton Review reserves the right to edit also for content, style, and length. All edits will be sent to authors before publication.
