If there’s any place I will die
It will be in a library
My heart will stop beating
In rhythm with the pages turning
My breath flickering like a candle burning
I’ll haunt every last shelf and every last book
I’ll hide my ashes in every cranny and nook
They will say she sat over there in the corner every day
And I still do, the pillows behind the back beginning to fray
I may be dead but in the library I’m never more alive
The saddest little way anyone could thrive.
